Obviously, the requirements need to be updated. With as many GCH awards,
etc., that Harley has attained, a dog of his quality should be in the
Parade of Greats.

Theoretically, a 6 month old puppy can be shown, for the first and only
time in his life, at our National, and thereafter be eligible for the Parade
of Greats at all of our ensuing Nationals, for the rest of his life. He
goes WD. Then in Specials, he goes Select #139 or whatever, not even BoW.
That is it. The GSDCA considers him to be a Great Dog One judge, our
own Breed Warden, if you like, has made that decision.
Harley is not eligible for our Parade of Greats. Ergo, the GSDCA does NOT
consider him a Great Dog, right? And at least one committee chairperson,
wants me to not mention his 2 AKC JAM/AOE's in my brags, in my ads, nor in
my sig line.
Those are the facts. And it is insulting at the least, as well as very
hurtful, to a 36 year member of the GSDCA and a 41 year supporter of this
great breed.
