Actually, it is very on-topic ...

Scan those negatives in full, high-resolution. There's plenty of room for them.

Just a few years ago I was only getting 9 or 10 medium-format scans on
a CD. Now ...

But you bought 2 harddisks, I'm sure. One for backup of the other :-)
