I, too, have a problem with Christmas Carols in church during Advent...I know
of an organist at a Methodist Church which celebrates the Church Year who has
been faced with a baptist director of music who states that "Every Sunday is
Easter Sunday..."
"The people want to sing carols."
"The people want guitars and praise bands."
"The people want churches to be like the churches on TV."
"The people want to sing the words from screens like at football and basketball
arenas."
I have to say that I rarely, if ever, have heard these words come out of the
people's mouths who are happy members of churches. Have you? In court most
worship decisions would be considered to be made upon hearsay.
