Tim, I had one of those - a Baby Speed in 2x3 format with a Graflok back. The 2x3 rollholder was the same size as a filmholder and had a couple of slots that the tabs on the Graflok back slid into. Shoot one roll, pull the rollholder off and put a fresh one on. Came in knob and lever wind versions. The 4x5 version had the rollholder permanently mounted on that large adapter plate which then mounted on the 4x5 back. A lot more cumbersome.

Graflex made roll holders to fit both Graflex and Graflok backs but not the spring Graflex back. Both the Graflex and Graflok back have removable ground glass panels and hold accessories by means of slide stips. The Graflex and Graflok backs are different and take different designs of accessories. They also take different standard film holders. Holders for the Graphic and Graflok back have smooth sides, those for the old Graflex back have grooves in the sides to fit the sliding strips on the back. Graflex backs have a removable ground glass panel but it was suppled as an accessory while the panel of the Graflok is a part of the back and has the pressure springs necessary to take standard film holders. The Graflex back was standard on Graflex cameras and Graphic or Graflok backs were standard on Speed/Crown Graphics although either camera could be special ordered with either back and Graflok backs were also available for either but were special order items for the Graflex. Graflex backs are sometimes found in Speed Graphic cameras meant for special purposes such as scientific photography, because they would accept various accsssories that could not be used on a standard spring back. There were several variations of the Graflex roll film holder. The early ones had knobs for winding the film, the later versions had a lever. The later holders also had additional rollers to maintain film flatness and location. The last were made by Singer. A special finder mask is necessary to account for the difference in film size and format for larger format cameras but the 2x3 Graphic or Graflex can be used without masking provided, in the case of the Graphic, it has the standard 101mm or 105mm lens. Graflex suppled at least a dozen masks for the eye-level finder on its cameras.
