And as you record your interviews, and you want to mark sections of
interest, how do you do that during recording, and how do you recover
those marks when you wish to edit?

Hi.
If you use the PTR2 in "Normal" mode, then you can do this,
and indeed I do
all the time.
So for example if it is the first recording on the card/disk
you would see a
folder called
bookdir0
and in there as well as all the smil xml and other stuff yu
would also find
the mp3 files pertaining to the title, which you simply copy
to your hard
disk and edit in your referred sound editor.
I regularly record broadcast quality interviews etc and in
fact the quality
difference between the PTR1 and PTR2 is to say the leest
staggering.
