I don't think there's any doubt that, if you've completed Books 1-12, and choose Grand Weaponmastery,
you get +5 on the RNT with your Bow as a hidden loyalty bonus. And if the Grand Master books consistently said you get +3 RNT on your Bow, both in their Game Rules and all sections, I wouldn't bat an eyelid - it would be less powerful that Weaponmastery, but that would be the same as for Deliverance vs. Curing.
The only thing that makes me doubt is that in a few numbered sections of Books 13, 14 and 15, the Grand Weaponmastery bonus is given as +5 or +4, making it look like the +3 in the Game Rules is a cut-and-paste error. However Joe seems to have settled back to consistently having it as +3 in later Grand Master books.
So, I think there's two ways to treat those rogue numbered sections:1. Leave them as is, on the basis that they're one-off explicit ad hoc different bonuses for those specific combats.
2. Correct them to +3, on the basis that Joe Dever got confuse.-----Original Message----- From: Simon Osborne

The Mentora +2 bonus is clearly in addition to the +3 from normal Weaponmastery with Bow, so this +2 cumulative bonus remains for Grand Masters who have completed the Magnakai series, surely? -- Simon Osborne Project Aon On 14/06/2011 18:02, David Davis wrote:
Yeah but is that not the exact same thing as with Huntmastery/Grant Huntmastery and Curing/Deliverance? The Grand Master descriptions for those don't explicitly say you don't need to cross meals off when instructed to eat, or you get +1 EP per section - but we know from Newsletters that if you've completed prior books, you still keep these bonuses, as hidden loyalty bonuses. Thus by the same principle, someone who has +5 on the RNT rolls for bows and thrown weapons with Mentora would not lose that when becoming a Grand Master. The ambiguity is only there for players who haven't completely prior books - what bonus do they get with a bow and Grand Weaponmastery? The Games Rules say +3, but as our your & Tim's recent searches show, some individual sections say +5 or even +4... -----Original Message----- From: Jonathan Blake I'm not seeing how this applies conclusively to Bows. It implies that the bonuses aren't cumulative. This problematic for Bows because the bonus for G. Weaponmastery is less than that for Weaponmastery when we include the bonus for Mentora. I don't think we can say anything definitive. I think we need to provide education and options. -- Jon
