Ok, I don't usually get in2 these kinds of threads, but let me just
comment. I do think that placing text in the context of a reply might
be helpful. I'll give a prime example. Jamal said some stuff & then
Inthane wrote back "applause Jamal." Well, now, my curiosity's getting
the better of me so I gotta find out why exactly Inthane's applauding
Jamal cuz I suspect it's not just because he's a great guy or whatever
but rather because he's uttered something profound. So, I now have to
find Jamal's message in the thread, click on that, & read his words of
wisdom that drew Inthane's applause. Now, I suspect that Jamal does
not wish to reread his extraordinary profundities which evoked
Inthane's ovation. However, for those of us who slept since some of
these messages were written... Perhaps some1 sees my point? Not all of
us use outlook express where messages are quoted endlessly. Even if we
did, the key is which part of the endless thread is being replied to?
So I think that requoting *relevant* text is a real courtesy--but
notice the word relevant! Just my $.02, & probably worth precisely
what yall paid for it.
BTW, applause to both Inthane & Jamal. They're some of the most
knowledgeable, helpful, & *nicest* folks on this list, & that latter
counts for an awful lot, as there are some knowledgeable folks in this
world who don't necessarily possess the latter trait. Thanks,
