Thanks John.
I wonder, how do we read the LEGO manual? I believe it is graphical.

Hey Sean,
All else being equal, LEGO is probably the easiest I've seen so far. The
kits are around 350 - 400 or so, but don't require electronics expertise to
get started. Making one walk around a room is relatively easy with a little
practice.

I wasn’t aware of so many people doing robotics. So where do you start if
you are completely new and don’t have a degree in electronics or
programming, and are just interested in learning for a hobby. How much are
basic robotic kits? I don’t have anyone who knows electronics, so I am
really seeking for something that is simple to build and program. My idea
is to build a robot just to walk around a room. I don’t know how difficult
this would be or not.
Any resources or tips would be great. So I can start. I will be looking for
a robotic club in Sydney Australia to see if they can help.

Hello:
The Vex platform has pieces that bolt together. The robotc was
fully accessible. I used a command line to compile my programs. If I
recall correctly, I used a USB cable to transfer the code. This was in
2007.

Hello
and how accessible was the Vex platform? regarding both, software
and hardware?

Hello:
Some years ago (2009), I used NXC (Not Exactly c) to program a
Lego Mindstorm. I also had a Vex robot and used Robotc in 2007. As
for the Lego, I was able to operate the control panel to run the
program I compiled. The Lego unit has other functions which are not
accessible.
Hope this helps.
