With anything electronic you are lucky to get 90 day warranties. If you purchase form a reputable store (Circuit City, Best Buy etc) you can usually get a 3 year service contract that is not too unreasonably priced. I am curious as to what troubleshooting steps you took to determine the XP install disc was bad?
