Hi John and Re-Na >> I'm not having any issues with gmail and Firefox. Works great. >> I was just wanting to be able to reply using Thunderbird as that is what is >> not working here. >> I am sending this wireless, but there is a cable I can plug into my laptop >> if I so desire. I get the same results when I am plugged in though. I >> checked. >> > Possible courses of action might be: > 1) Download and install a fresh copy of Thunderbird. > 2) Contact your ISP techs to check Thunderbird settings, run tests and > get advice from those who run the internet service in your area. > 3) Run all possible maintainance to ensure files are ok. 1) Installing a fresh copy of Thunderbird does nothing for connection problems, only if TB doesn't start or has a GUI problem. The settings are in the profile, which is not affected by reinstalling. 2) + 3) Re-Na had no problems at home, so it's no problem with her computer or her normal TB settings. It's caused by the new wireless connection, which probably doesn't let her send using her own SMTP server. Her ISP techs may be able to help, but a better bet are the techs at the ISP she's using right now, Cox. -- -------list-services-below----------- Regards, John Durham (list moderator) <http://modecideas.com/contact.html?sig> Freelists login at //www.freelists.org/cgi-bin/lsg2.cgi List archives at //www.freelists.org/archives/pchelpers PC-HELPERS list subscribe/unsub at http://modecideas.com/discuss.htm?sig Latest news live feeds at http://modecideas.com/indexhomenews.htm?sig Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
