OK I tried that too but I got an error message:

C:\>FORMAT a:Test /Q /F:1.44 /C
Parameter format not correct - a:Test

However using the right syntax it worked fine as follows:

Tue 07-15-2003 13:28:15.47
C:\>Format a: /V:Test /Q /F:1.44 /c
Insert new diskette for drive A:
and press ENTER when ready...

Checking existing disk format.
QuickFormatting 1.44M
Format complete.

    1,457,664 bytes total disk space
    1,457,664 bytes available on disk

512 bytes in each allocation unit.
2,847 allocation units available on disk.

Volume Serial Number is 2734-14F0

Checking the Label: A-OK
C:\>label a:
Volume in drive A is TEST
Volume Serial Number is 2734-14F0

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
