OK well that works here. You could have a bad drive I suppose. If you happen to have an old DOS Boot disk and version from Dos 4.0 up and just boot your machine with it, doing a plain c:\format a: command. Does that work? Have you tried different diskettes? I do not have any unformatted diskettes here and I believe you said it works if you have a previously formatted disk. I have had diskettes that for some reason would not format particularly one that was used on a Brother Typewriter.
