Fire up regedit and navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Class\Modem In the right pane, you should see (all string types): Icon "0" Installer "Modem.cpl" Link ....what I have is "{4D36E96D-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}" Anyways, make sure all that matches up. If that doesn't fix it, I'll keep tinkering around.
