One slide says that in SQL Server, sometimes writers block readers.

Another recommends that SQL Server transactions be kept small.

Interesting

Cary
Gosh you are a fast reader! I sat in on their presentation, and these are
two academics, requested to do this presentation specifically because they
are not marketing people. Oracle offered to do the presentation but it was
felt they might not be totally objective. Go figure. Therefore I would say
that slide was prepared without any consideration at all on what it "makes
it look like".

Just curious: On p4, why are the authors adding across platforms? This
makes the more portable system look like it costs more, whether it
really does or not.

 Thanks Lex,
First, there is a level in decisions, that really don't matter too much
 detail,
So the idea is to say you this have oracle standard editoin, and this
don't
 have sql server.

Second, do you have a paper, study or whatever to translate
requerimients
into money, for example x software in sql server uses X cup, time, etc.
and
 in Oracle uses y:

 Thanks Again.
