Hi list,
I took statistics about 5 years before the speech plus came out, and I
didn't have an optacon until about 5 years after taking the class; had to do
standard deviations and correlation coefficients by hand with the good old
Perkins and my math skills. Took me all day to get an assignment done....
But I got an A in the class. I guess the one compensation was that everybody
else in the class was told to go to the math lab and use electric
calculators since nearly all of them didn't have portable ones yet, so they
probably had to stand in line all day. Ah, the good old days of 1971!
