Isn't interesting how fanominal we all the speech plus was? A calculator 
which talked! And look at what is available now, I'd be willing to bet 
partly from those rudamentary beginnings.

One day I was in the library at the university I was attending.  I was
taking a statistics class.  Ugh.  Anyway, I was using an Optacon and a
Speech Plus calculator.  Some people came over to me and asked me what I was
doing, but they were more curious than anything.  For some reason I didn't
have ear plugs for the calculator so they heard the buzzing and the
electronic speech.  It was kind of funny.
