Hello All,
Walked from the Royal parking area to the platform, south to the Barn Pond and
on to the Hwy 126 pond and back this afternoon. There were fewer ducks in the
area than last week, but still good diversity. Highlights were:
Wood Duck - 4
Gadwall - 90
American Wigeon - 2
Mallard - 40
Blue-winged Teal - 9
Cinnamon Teal - 34
Green-winged Teal - 4
Northern Shoveler - 4
Northern Pintail - 2
Canvasback - 2
Redhead - 12
Lesser Scaup - 1
Hooded Merganser - 14
Ruddy Duck - 6
Black-necked Stilt - 6
American Avocet - 3, One still on the nest, surprised to see a third bird in
the area.
Greater Yellowlegs - 3
Wilson's Phalarope - 1
Caspian Tern - 1
