Hello All,
The Fisher Unit was nice and birdy this morning. The highlight was an adult
PARASITIC JAEGER first seen roosting on Pelican Island southwest of the Royal
observation platform, then chasing Ring-billed and Cal gulls around the area. A
single AMERICAN AVOCET and two MARBLED GODWITS were on the observation pond. A
DUNLIN and PECTORAL SANDPIPER were both first of the season.
One BLACK- BELLIED and one AMERICAN GOLDEN PLOVER were at HQ pond south of Hwy
126, accessed from Cantrell Road early this afternoon. The plovers were distant
scope views. Very white face, bold white supercillium and long primary
projection extending well beyond the tail lead me to the American ID.
