A Wilson's snipe in front of the Coquille Or post office half a block from
hwy 42, at twilight, it was disoriented and seemed unable to scale the
curb. I tucked it under my car seat, took it home and released it in my
back paddock(which backs to forest land) and it scuttled off for cover.
A friend picked up a loon about two blocks away from the middle of central
ave(which minutes before was awash from a heavy downpour_, where it could
walk or take off to fly. A call to a rehabber yielded the advice to take it
down to the river and release it

My own best is a White-Breasted Nuthatch in a flock of red-breasted
nuthatches at 5K+ feet in the high cascades of Douglas County in a
lodgepole pine forest.
