Last month I found a House Sparrow on a lawn on Rottnest Island, in the Indian
Ocean west of Perth, Western Australia. I reported it on eBird, with a photo,
and was contacted by the reviewer for the precise location, so that local
birders could twitch it, the second record in eBird for Western Australia.
Oddly, a few days later, on an orchid tour in the Darling Range, one of the
other participants turned out to be the birder who reported the first one, a
few years before, in Augusta, WA.
