I will always remember the Red Phalarope that my husband noticed at the
base of our driveway that continued to walk down my our street at about
100' elevation in Manzanita/Nehalem in the great Red Phalarope invasion in
November, 2016.
Coming home from the beach to our Portland condo, the concierge told us
there was an owl on our 6th floor balcony. A crowd had gathered in the
courtyard to see it. We went upstairs and a Barred Owl took a short look
at me sitting 5 feet away at my desk and then slept there all day leaving
after dark.
I watched a Sora who spent several days in downtown Chicago on a grass
median street in an industrial area pecking at the grass.

My own best is a White-Breasted Nuthatch in a flock of red-breasted
nuthatches at 5K+ feet in the high cascades of Douglas County in a
lodgepole pine forest.
Can anyone top mine? How about the tattler? Let me and others know!
