I've been using DVD+RW selectively -- certain things get back up to certain
disks -- and for total backups I now use DLT. I bought a slightly used 15GB
DLT off eBay for $75 and it works beautifully.  You can also use used tapes
as long as you keep the heads clean, and I've had no trouble.
