I'm willing Anne. Do you have a link to the fix? /g -----Original Message----- From: Anne Robson [mailto:anne.robson2@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx]=20 I found a fix for this by creating a Word template to handle the merge process and always opening the template, rather than a new doc from the template. For some reason it seems this gets over the OLE/DDE hiccup. I have the same problem with Word documents that we changed the data source on. Saving the file doesn't seem to take. I still must select my data source every time I want to do a particular merge. My original data source was an Excel spreadsheet. We changed to Access and have one table with a letter code field that corresponds with a particular Word document. We want to link to that table and that particular letter code. Some documents work and some don't. I don't know yet what they have in common. I can link to the data source. choose the criteria to equal the desired letter code and save the document. Next time, gotta do it all over again. /g ************************************************************* You are receiving this mail because you subscribed to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx or MicrosoftOffice@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To send mail to the group, simply address it to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To Unsubscribe from this group, send an email to mso-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word "unsubscribe" (without the quotes) in the subject line.
