Linda....when I open the document I see the merge fields, e.g. <LastName>. If I then press the 'View Merged Data' button, I get data from the table, not the query. As I said, at this point I can use the 'Open Data Source' button or the Mail Merge Helper to point to the query. Now when I look at the data, it comes from the query. But when I close and re-open the document, (I'm looking at the merge fields again) I'm linked to the table and I have to relink the query. This happens on 3 different computers, with 3 different OS's (I forgot Win98 in my first message) and 2 versions of Office. ric ************************************************************* You are receiving this mail because you subscribed to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx or MicrosoftOffice@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To send mail to the group, simply address it to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To Unsubscribe from this group, send an email to mso-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word "unsubscribe" (without the quotes) in the subject line.
