Hi Jan,
I hope this helps.
From within WORD:
1. Go to Tools/ Templates and add-ins.In the document template
section Normal.dot should be selected.
2. On the Tools menu, click Templates and Add-Ins.
3. Click Attach, Normal.dot should be in the list, if not the only
file listed.
4. Click the "Look in" drop down menu and remember the path to the
Normal. dot.
Now exit Word - locate the file and delete it.

Vivian

Hello Linda,

I've been unable to get back to my normal routine with my seniors until
now so this is why it is been so long since this last post. This
problem has not improved.

I ran a find & it could not find the file normal.dot. In frustration I
uninstalled the entire Office software & reinstalled it hoping that
would make the difference. Well, much to my surprise, it did not change
anything. Every time she clicks on 'new' document she keeps getting a
copy of the same letter that she did months ago. Please, try to get her
back to normal.

Thanks,
Jan

Close Word and search her computer for normal.dot and rename it. Open
Word
again and it should be fine. Normal.dot is a new blank document.

I will send you this month's ABC privately now, Jan.

  Good morning to everyone,

One of my seniors has a very strange situation so here I am again.
When she
clicks on "new" either the blank paper icon under file or whether she
clicks
file>new it opens with a letter that she wrote to someone four or five
months ago. Some months ago, when she wrote the letter she apparently
didn't
'save as' but may she just 'save' changes??? Anyway she couldn't get
rid of
this letter so ran a search & threw everything with that persons name
on it
away, & emptied recycle bin. But still every time she clicks on new
up
  comes that letter.

There must be a place where we can reset the New document to open
blank & I
  would appreciate your guidance.

By the way Linda, never received this months ABC, could you please
resend?

  Thanks...............................Jan
