The point I was making re the time taken is as follows, it would seem
logical for a teacher requiring such a check would take prefferenece =
over an
amateur engineer wishing to give the odd train ride to kids.

Hi, the police checks have different costs depending on what you ask =
for.
Mine was to teach young children and cost =A335 my wifes was to work in =
a
finance department and cost =A345 due to handling money.  I have to =
disagree
with the timescale though as both ours were returned within 2 weeks of
application. =20
