beautiful lines, praising men defending their native soil against foreign aggressors. I'll leave that uncommented.


the hadesfahrt is a really very old motive and has nothing to do with war propaganda of any kind. and of course, red is better.

Heine can hardly be overrated; and the translations are there, e. g. here's one of the most important:

PS: If he wished, Joerg might try his hand at some Heine translations. Heine is under-represented in English, and such a project could be publishable here. Few Americans even know Heine's last words.
