feeling of thankfulness to the vast majority of readers.
However, I would argue that there are also some of us who have learned a great
deal (and indeed are still learning)about keeping arguments 'in hand' thanks in
large part to participation in this list and its predecessor.
Note: I use that 'there are some' in the strictly logical sense of 'there is at
least one'!
