Bear in mind that my reply refers to my FS9 installation. There may be some differences with FSX.

When you installed and set up IvAp to two PCs, you should have been asked to identify which PC would be running -

- the FS interface
- the User Interface
- the Network Interface

The FS interface has to be on the FS PC. I also run the Network Interface on the FS PC - I initially tried to run it on the non-FS PC but IvAp would not run. I run the User Interface on the non-FS PC. Check your configuration on both PCs via Start >> Programs >> IVAO >> IvAp configuration (see Manual Ch 17, p72, and Ch 20, pp 79-80).

Once this is set up, the first bit of software to launch is the Network Interface - should be in your Start >> Programs >> IVAO folder. Next you launch the UI - in my case, on the other PC. Once these two are running, your FS PC should show 3 reds and 1 green in the system tray. Now you start FS, and go to the new IVAO menu item >> Start IvAp. If everything is OK, this should fire up after a couple of seconds (you'll get a ribbon at the top of the screen confirming this), and your 3 reds/1 green should become 1 red/3 greens. You're in business!!

Now you go to the UI and click on connect - you will be prompted for your personal data: userID, password, etc - and when you OK this you are finally connected to the IvAp server and you should have 4 greens.

Come back once you've digested this!

Mike,

Sorry about the reply just sent. Finger trouble. My answer about the Network Interface still stands. To reply to your other questions, I don't show the 4 red/green lights anywhere. As to which PC am I running the NI, I don't believe I am running it at all and that may be the source of my problem. Please explain in more detail about the NI.
