Well, for that matter, when did Eloquence come into being?
When I started out I had a DEC board. Perhaps that is why I could adjust
the volume on the voices?
I stayed with 98 as long as I cold because I really liked the DEC board.
I could still probably use 98 except for the fact that my family also
use the computer and some of the newer programs they want will not run
on 98. I also understand the the new DEC boards are not nearly the
quality of the older onboard ones.

not with eloquence, I've used it since version 3.2 and I've never been
able 
to adjust volume from with in jaws.
