I recommend the following:
Change the system parameters to the following:
* Display: Windows Classic theme, 1024 by 768 pixels, Adjust for Best
Performance
* Personalization;
* Theme, Windows Classic
* Color and Appearance: Windows Classic
All of these will be found in Control Panel.
It might be due to either video intercept or keyboard echo problem. I
would
also suggest that you submit this in Vista Public Beta Feedback Form found
at Freedom Scientific's website.

A friend of mine just purchased a new Dell desktop with Vista Premium Home
on it and is having the same problem..there is quite a long delay between
pressing a keystroke and Jaws speaking the key that is pressed. It happens

Subject: Jaws 8 and vista
Hi,
I have just brought a new laptop which has vista premium on it and I have
upgraded jaws and installed the latest version. I was wondering if anyone
else had been finding that jaws was slow at times especially when typing
characters into word, email or programmes like live messenger. Currently
there seems to be about a 2 second delay between typing a character and
hearing it spoken. I haven't seen any messages about this in the archives
so
don't know if it is not a common problem and if it is, does anybody have
any
ideas of settings I could change?
