The trouble is - that they don't communicate in a confident way with the users of their software. And, as experience proves, Freedom scientific was very slow to catch up with the opposition over Internet Explorer support, and it is behind on support for Firefox. What about Cityrix? Almost two years after two screen readers fofer support for Citrix, built into the core product, not as a module. Similarly with Adobe Acrobat. The only area where Freedom Scientiic has been on top of the game is with respec to Microsoft Word and Excel, where they had better support for both productsw for several JFW software releases, (until now.)

Let us not be grateful for Freedom Scientifric ; let us require them to communicate with software users.

Vaughan.

Aaa come on guys. Why not give FS a little credit here. You can rest
assured that they are indeed looking at Vista and preparing to take the
necessary steps to make JFW work with it. It stands to reason that FS would
not want to make JFW's functionality with Vista seamless while Microsoft
continues to change some of Vista's code. Do not underestimate Freedom
Scientifics' ability to be on top of their game, even when you think they
are not.

So it's your informed? opinion that Fs should not be working with the beta
in order to contribute to the accessibility of Vista and jaws?

Seems to me that I've been fighting all my life in support of building in
accessibility from the ground up, instead of retrofitting. If a leader in
screen reader technology doesn't show initiative then why should anyone
else?

Show me the money again...Keith

I take this as an indicator that FS should wait until Vista is out, so they'll know exactly what they have to do for accessibility.
