Hi Mandy, it depends what you want to do with the machine.
You don't have to spend money on something you don't need. Unless you are
playing modern video games or video editing, a reasonable modern machine
will do fine.
Most folk just do a bit of word processing, emails and browsing the net.
I've got a dell with 8 GB of installed memory, an I5 processor and a solid
state drive, plus jaws 2023. It runs fine. It cost around 500 quid last
year. Get back if you want any more inf.
