Alas (?) it wasn't the lead. As I said in a previous post, I managed to get it working with a Windows PC and a Windows laptop and the Belkin switching software. !USBInfo reveals that it is a USB 1.10 device working at Low speed. I suspect that internally it is quite complex. I came tonight and turned on the Iyonix, still connected to the Green lead. No display. I then pulled out the Remote lead and reinserted it. This gave me a display and a Green LED on the remote. I then booted the PC. Pressing the Remote switched me to it !!! Pressing it again switched me back!! There are clearly issues to do with setting the KVM up, probably software ones, but it seems to be working now. > I'm only coming in on this thread to mention another minor problem > that Andrew may encounter once he has the system working for both > computers at once. > With my (different model) Belkin KVM switch, I have to boot up my > Iyonix first, then switch to the PC and let that start booting, at > least up to the stage when it has seen the monitor and chosen the > right screen mode. That isn't happening - the PC is working fine at 1600 x 900 in 16M colours > If I boot the PC first and then switch to and boot the Iyonix, the > Iyonix doesn't see the monitor. I will try that at some point but I almost always turn the Iyonix on first to access my email.
