anyone who uses linux can learn ms windows in a day , but not the other way
round :)
so doesnt make it a hard deal for the kerala students.

Indeed. All students in -schools- are going to use the skills they
learnt in schools (< 10th) when they go out looking for jobs.
What you learn in schools is your foundation for higher education. It
is the path, not the destination. Your argument is akin to arguing
that using hydro-electric power instead of nuclear power to run trains
will cause the trains to run slower. It is a complete non sequitur.
For many students coming out of _govt owned public schools_, the
computer education they receive there is the _only_ computer education
they might receive in the course of their education.
When 90% of the world they are going to enter is using Windows how
will that help ?
