Sorry, I wasn't trying to be obtuse. If the spec requires that hosts
mediate all paramter changes (to allow simple automation) - which I'd hope
for then the UI talking just to the plugin is not enough - the simplest
option would be for hte UI to talk to the host on the plugins behalf -
that rtequires some generalised support in the host (howefver basic) and
so needs something in the spec. Even if its just "use OSC with this path
suffix".
