I will try some of these pointers out next week as I'm filling in for = vacations this week and not near any of the Foxboro Terminals. Thanks = for the info guys and I'll keep you posted. Anybody else with ideas = please be sure to drop me a line. First do a histsave, and strip out = the alarm point records to get a list of historian points.(using = excel/word) Next create a omget data file which attempts to read each = point. If it exists you will get a value, otherwise an error so then you = can then go to the point config and delete it in the historian. Just another note. If you delete it in the historian you wont get your = original point added back into you license unless you undelete it.=20 This means deleting 1000 points costs 1000 points in you license. The = only workaround found was to batch out the points and recreate the = historian to recover the license issue, or complain to your sales guy = for a upgrade to the license.=20 The recreation of historian means loss of all previous data since the = mapping is different in the point numbers. Under the column = "Lbug" you will see the letterbug of the host of the historian. If it = is a large historian you will see many rows with your letterbug under = the column. =20 m opdb =20 will give you more pages of rows and columns. Hitting Carriage Return or = Enter will repeat the last command ( m opdb) until you see the message = Operation Complete" =20 For each row where your letterbug is listed note the row number under = the first column (001, 002 for example) =20 The type=20 =20 opvr 1 (for 001) =20 and =20 =20 m opvr (until you see the Operation Complete message) =20 This will display a Compound:Block.Parameter that you recognize. = Underneath the C:B.P you want to see the word "Scanning". This is = good and it means that the C:B.P is a good point in a controller = somewhere. =20 If you see the words "No Response" underneath the C:B.P then it is a = bad point. =20 All of this could get confusing if you have application programs that = open lists on this host or display managers (FV or DM) or remote display = managers running off this host. But perhaps it will help you. =20 If it is possible to stop the AIM Historian, you could run som while = historian is OFF and see what lists are not from the historian then = re-start it to see the numbers for the new lists and you could check the = new lists for "No Response". =20 q to quit som. =20 Regards, =20 Terry =20 =20 ________________________________ De: foxboro-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx de la part de Gillis, Dale Date: lun. 2007-07-16 11:19 =C0: foxboro@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Objet : [foxboro] AIM Historian BAD POINTS Hello List. I use IA Ver 6.5.2 and run AIM 3.2.4 Historian. The older versions of this AIM used to give you a list of BAD Points (ie points historized but may not exist in your CP anymore) that may be in the Historian when it started up....in some log file under /opt/aim/inst. It doesn't seem to do this anymore with the newer version. Can anyone help me in finding a tool that will do this or point me in the proper direction?
