That film was made over 80 years ago. Just accept that. Times change.
There are many books showing state of the art locomotive shops of their day.
Every supplier in the industry had promotional material showing their tools
at work, and they still do. Just different tools for different times. There
are literally dozens of railroad books that show locomotives being built and
they are no different than what is on this film, only in the film you see
the people and the machinery actually in motion.
