Actually, it was being fearless and an experimenter type that taught me what I 
know.  There isn't anyone around here anymore that really does repair work 
anyway, so I usually get those calls.

Actually the fearless and experimenter types are the ones keeping me in 
business - only 2 or 3 of every 50 or so actually accomplish something 
workable, the others ruin it and have to call me.

    Thanks Jack..I think I "can" handle the CPU install..but the motherboard is

years ago you had to jumper the correct CPU voltage and speed as well as many 
other things.  Now days, most of that is automatically detected and taken care 
of by the motherboard.  About the only jumpering to be done now days is for 
functions like wake on LAN and such.
