Stan,
In Windows Explorer. when you highlight a file then press F2 to rename
it, the file name is highlighted, thus as soon as you press a key, the
original name goes away. Ro prevent this, move the curosr to the beginning
of the file name. Press delete to get rid of the file name, leaving the
period and extension. Then type the new name and press enter.
