What am I missing abut this general issue? In order to convert an NLS tape to MP3, it would have to be played in real time, anyway, to convert it, so why not just listen to it then?
Besides, there very well may be legal issues, even in copying for your own
use. There most certainly are legal issues if you distribute such a file to
anyone, even if they're entitled to use NLS materials and even if you give
them the file for free.

Nolan:
A good audio description of this process with demonstration would also make a great piece for Blind Cool Tech podcast.

So now the ball is in Nolan's court.
Bring it on, Nolan...when you can; no pressure, <smile>!

About a week ago someone posted steps for making audio files of NLStapesto send to the Book Port. May I get a resend on that? And, what's the
6/23/2005approximate size of the file of one side of a cassette?
Thank you.
