I didn't see anyone else comment on this, but if this works for you, I'd 
suggest you have a defective Book Port. I've tried this on three different 
units and every one simply announces the letter on which the reading stopped 
when this sequence is followed.

If you "one click" the 8 key while the BP is playing, then stop it with the
2 key, the "one click" 8 again, you will get the stats with no program
playing in the background.

Hello once more:



In reading the posts to the list on determining free space on the flash
card, it seems that a key sequence might be considered to "ask" the unit to
give you the free space while in "idle" mode.  It seems one can only
retrieve this information while a file is playing, or when using the
transfer tool?
