Hi Jackie,

Yes, that would be my idea. It sounds like it would be harder to manage than I hoped, but perhaps if Madeleine puts the lists together, at least we can contact Bookshare staff and ask who might be interested in partnering on particular projects.

It doesn't sound as efficient that way. What I was hoping for was more efficiency in the process so that someone with an idea could contact someone who could partner. Perhaps it will grow over time.

Hi,
Sandy, that's a great idea. Even though there are a lot of PQ books
out there, there are still more that will never be submitted.
One question, with your suggestion, are you saying that if a proofer
or scanner likes a book that is not on the site, they contact a
scanner or prooffer to see if they will do it? I think that's what you
said but I want to clarify.

Hi Ann,

The purpose is that a proofreader longing for a book to proof could contact

a known scanner and ask if they'd be willing to scan it. A scanner with a
book that needs proofing could check with a proofreader or two to see if
they'd do it. It just seems more efficient to me than tossing a book out
there on the checkout without a hold and hoping it gets taken. And I was
hoping, also, to rouse some interest among proofers to peruse booklists and

sites for books not in the collection that they'd like to proof, then work
with a scanner to get the book, scan and submit it, and hold it for the
person who contacted them.

Anyway, long explanation. Sorry.

Hi all,

Why go through all this? The email and name of the scanner is listed in
the Book History. I don't understand the need for a separate list.
