The 344 pages is probably "soft page breaks" if you're looking at it in
Word. Soft page breaks don't count for anything. If you want to be sure,
replace ^m with qqq (or another thing that isn't likely to be in the book)
and see how many replaces you got. Then undo the replace. How ever many
replaces you got is the actual number of hard page breaks.
