Barb, You may not want to do that and just may regret it if it is a Meade small scope (refractor or reflector). If you are shopping for a small scope, look at the review of small scopes in the December 2005 Sky & Telescope magazine. The Meade small scopes are all at the bottom. They are presently exploiting that market segment. Get an Orion catalog: http://www.telescope.com. They were rated higher in the article.
