Ernest: Yep, we are running with new pinch rollers and thread feed rollers with the new software - and I can tell you - our Amaya works as well as the XT's with the kit installed. We love it and can tell you that actifeed is great on most (though not all) garments. Xt's still have it all over the original for hats though ;) JOHN -----Original Message----- From: amayausers-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:amayausers-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Ernest Aguilar Sent: Friday, August 25, 2006 10:21 AM To: amayausers@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [amayausers] Re: charge for transfer support We feel that these will last longer than the old Melco's, although we have some EM!'s that are originals from the 80's and they are still producing. The XT tensioning system is much better than the original Amayas, although the old one can be retrofitted wit the new rollers. I like the auto tensioning because the operators have one less thing to screw up. We have had no problems with thickness of materials from heavy jackets to vinyl to woolens. My main question when the original Amayas came out was the interface and the way of work were totally different than the old melcos, the XT is much better becaswuse the learning curve is smaller, although Melco is working on more improvements for use large users of the machines to make it more production friendly. I would not hesitate to recommend this machine at all. Do you think that the service life of the Amaya will be as long as that of some of the old Melco's ? I know you like the auto tensioning system on the Amaya [as many others do as well] but do you sometimes think that this system of tensioning is a bit too complex [especially when compared to the manual system used on your older Melco's] ? Do you find it easier to stitch thick bulky type items on your older Melco's than on the Amaya ? And as a final note ... I am not knocking the Amaya but every time I have a look at one of these machines, these are the questions I ask myself. Your answers to these questions and opinion would be appreciated. Bob .
