Ok, its not a true split-satin but it gives the same look and is very effective up to a point. What I do is set my lettering how I want it, for example Full Block names straight accross the back of sweatshirts. Full Block, 2" tall, zig-zag underlay of 15 density and 90% width, main density at 4 and 100%. Then you just copy/past the lettering onto itself and change the settings to no underlay and the main at 10 density and 30% width. It will still sew the first part in normal satin stitches so you can't go too big this way but the 2nd lettering at 30% width ties down the wide columns so you will never have to worry about the large satin stitching comming out. This will save you tons of stitches over converting to fill and gives a nicer look in my opinion. I use this for names on back of stuff and for alot of larger lettering on jacket backs. I have 3 files saved, 1 in normal satin, one in split-satin (2006 software) and one in my split satin. If anyone wants to see the difference I can send them to you. They are in .exp format so you wont be able to see any settings cause those of you with the older software wouldnt be able to open them and if I save as older version it wont save the new split-column. Hope I explained this ok, if not feel free to ask any questions. I have been using this lettering for 5 years now and it works great :) Aaron Sargent The Linen Barn linen@xxxxxxxxxxx 541-770-2957 Medford, OR ----- Original Message ----- From: "Toni" <tlwetter@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: <amayausers@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, March 03, 2006 8:29 AM Subject: [amayausers] Re: 2006 Version 7.00.18 > Aaron, > > Can you give the directions for doing the split satin for those of us that > are DS challenged (have the older versions)? > Thanks, > > Toni Wetter > tlwetter@xxxxxxxxxxx > Classic Embroidery, Inc. > Almont, MI > (586) 255-4065 (cell phone) > (810) 798-2160 (leave message) > > ----- Original Message ----- > > >> love the auto-split columns feature.
