Not saying they should not. Just making a point about these new ones. Some
members cannot get one amd yet there can be more than one of the new variety in
one household.

And why shouldn't there be? Must a husband read only the same books as his
wife? Are children who live in the same house as their parents not allowed
their own players? There are many good family reasons why there could be more
than one player in a household.

    Hello Eleanor and everyone

I received my invitation to participate in the trial of the new machine. I
submitted my details as requested through the proper channels but heard no more
so I assume I was unsuccessful despite putting my request in before the
deadline.

    All the best

    Martin

I am wondering how many members on this list use the RNIB Talking Book
Library and ow many of those members were contacted about the new type of
Talking Book machine which can be used with USB Flash Drive. I understand that
there is a pilot going on at present with regard to this machine but equally I
understand that no existing member of the library will be entitled to one of
these new books, only new members will receive them. For those of you in the
pilot, what do you think of the machine and out of interest did the Talking
Book Library contact you directly about this pilot scheme or did you hear about
it through Read-on, the Talking Book Library CD sent out to members.
