Hi all, I bought the extra filter today for our kitchen, and the line is still crackling! I doubt it's made any difference really, but won't know till one of us downloads something. What else can we do? My dad's thinking of calling BT on another landline phone to see if it's a line fault or something. The broadband is absolutely fine; it's just the line now. Thanks in advance for the help.-- Chris Hallsworth Derbyshire, UK E-mail: christopherhallsworth71@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx MSN: ch9675@xxxxxxxxxxx Skype: chrishallsworth7266 Website: http://www.chrishallsworth.co.nr----- Original Message ----- From: "Andrew Hodgson" <andrew@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, July 24, 2008 2:40 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Good news regarding broadband and a question Hi, It depends on how the phones are connected.I think it is probably best if you describe as much as possible how your phones are connected, in relation to the sockets and extensions. Also, are the extensions wired to the master socket, or are you plugging in separate extensions?Andrew. -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx on behalf of Chris Sent: Wed 23/07/2008 21:03 To: Peter Beasley Subject: [access-uk] Re: Good news regarding broadband and a questionHi, we don't have a phone; we have an extension instead. So I don't need one then?-- Chris Hallsworth Derbyshire, UK e-mail: christopherhallsworth71@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx msn: ch9675@xxxxxxxxxxx Skype: chrishallsworth7266 Yes you do if you plug a phone into it.----- Original Message ----- From: "Chris" <christopherhallsworth71@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: "Andrew Hodgson" <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, July 23, 2008 5:33 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Good news regarding broadband and a questionHi, we only have one phone , which is downstairs. The rest are extension points. All the filters are plugged into them, however we do have an extension point in the kitchen. So do we need to buy a filter for the kitchen? Thanks for the help so far, I'm also noticing the speed is fluctuating. As I say these are probably just temporary problems and will be fixed on time. Thanks again for the help, and take care.-- Chris Hallsworth Derbyshire, UK e-mail: christopherhallsworth71@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx msn: ch9675@xxxxxxxxxxxHi,The reason you hear the crackling noises is because you have a connection issue with your filters. Do you have filters plugged into all the phone sockets in your house where a phone is located? Thanks. Andrew.-----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx on behalf of Chris Sent: Wed 23/07/2008 16:40 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Good news regarding broadband and a questionHi all, we're finally on Sky broadband. However, when my dad tries to ringout we hear a crackling kind of noise. Do we need to buy another DSL filter? Also, as I'm connected via wireless there's a slight delay withaudio streams. Is this because Sky's still making final adjustments to oursetup? I must say it's a very good connection and the wireless hasn't dropped once yet. Thanks in advance for answering my question.-- Chris Hallsworth Derbyshire, UK e-mail: christopherhallsworth71@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx msn: ch9675@xxxxxxxxxxx** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faqGet your FREE SECURE email account from http://www.topmail.co.uk ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq
