Hi, that doesn't make sense. My father downloaded Sky Player this morning, and the rest of *our* internet, as we share the same connection, slowed down, yet the download remained fairly constant, does this make sense? so it's got nothing to do with our computers I feel; I think it's because of our line not being fully split. This will be resolved, I hope, when I buy an extra filter for our phone socket in the kitchen. Thanks for trying to help George, greatly appreciated.

If you are downloading a file, and browsing the internet at the same time, then of course performance will suffer. There is only so much data that can flow down that pipe at any one time. Also, bear in mind that at such high speeds of transfer, your PC is working like mad writing data to the disk as well as doing other things.
